Abigail Williams’s flaws are seeking, lust, needy, craves power and a liar. She threatens her friends to keep shut about the real truth and blamed her own responsibility onto others like her slave Tituba. (160) Let either of you breathe a word, an edge of a word about the other things and will come to you in the black of some terrible night and will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you. (148) The flaws exposed her craziness when she stabs herself and through her neediness/flirting with John. She plots against Elizabeth will the doll and turns on Mary Warren when Mary tells the truth. Eventually, Abby downfall was the town realizes she’s a liar when she ran away with Parris’s money, and John also refuses to flee with her, she executed many people for nothing.

Reverend Parris’s flaws are selfish; he only cared about himself. Parris never really liked kids and worried about anyone else. He tried to convinced Abigail to believes in his lies to protect his reputation and accuse someone else. Abby believed in everything that Parris said and took it over with her control. Uncle, we did dance, let you tell them I confessed it and I’ll be whipped if I must be. But they’re speakin’ of witchcraft. Betty’s not bewitched. (142) Abigail, I have fought here three long years to bend these stiff-necked people to me.. (144) The flaw of Parris being exposed by Abby running away with all his money which means everything was a lie. Parris downfall was the court must have known Parris was a part of this and didn’t believe him anymore because he’s broke and have nothing left.

Therefore, the 3 characters created the whole theme of, The Crucible with their flaws and the conflicts the characters had with another character. In the other hand of what we learned, for example how Proctor have made a mistake and in the end he still had consequences like, either he dies and leave his family behind or has his name on the church door and lied about everything he’ll feel guilty forever, and gets to stay alive. The evil or vengeance a person wants to payback often has something that’ll come back to you if it’s done.
