Martin Luther King, Jr. was born January 15, 1929 and died April 4, 1968. He was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but after he had his birth name changed to Martin. Martin Luther attended segregated elementary schools in Georgia. He graduated from high school at the age of 15. Morehouse College is a distinguished Negro institution in Atlanta. Both his father and grandfather had graduated from there. On December 21, 1956 when the Supreme Court of the United States had declared that the laws are unconstitutional.

During the days of boycotting, Martin luther King Jr. was arrested, his home was terrorized , and he was given personal abuse. But as this was happening he still emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most important speaker of the American civil rights movement at the time. He worked for equal rights for all. He was also famous for using not-violent resistance to beat injustice, and he never stopped trying to end segregation laws.

He also did as many things as he could do to make people believe that every person is created equal. Because of all of his inspiring work in 1964, he won the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the youngest to earn such high honor.Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in his grandparents Victorian home on Auburn Ave in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the second of three kids. He and was first named Michael after his dad, but then the parents changed his name to Martin when the boy was still young. The site in which he lived was upgraded to a National Historical Park by the President Donald Trump on January 8th.

It includes the house he lived, the church he attended, and Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King’s tomb.At 6:05 on a Thursday afternoon, April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King was shot to death while standing on top of a balcony outside of his second floor room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The news of his assassination prompted major outbreaks and riots of racist violence.That made the result in more than 40 deaths across America and extensive property damage in over 90 American cities. James Earl Ray “escaped fugitive”, later confessed to the crime and was sentenced to 99 years prison. During King’s funeral, a tape recording was played. The tape was stated on how he spoke of how he wanted to be remembered after his death.
