Halloween and Carving Pumpkins

Halloween is one of the scariest days of the year. To some people, Halloween is all about carving pumpkins and cute costumes. Halloween is my favorite holiday because of the scary decorations, fearful haunted houses, and the delicious candies.

One major part of Halloween is the scary decorations. Many people put black and brown coffins in their yards, implying they are holding dead bodies. People also put clown masks on and use pictures of them because they are known to be very energetic, loud, and to have very creepy laughs.

I also love Halloween because of the replicas of zombies. They are known as very bloody, nasty, and to have a very weird walk.

Another major part of Halloween is the fearful haunted houses. One of the most commonly-known is Fright Fest. At Fright Fest, they have coffins out and people dressed up to scare you. They also have lights flashing and noises blaring, making the experience extremely loud and fearful. Another popular haunted house in our area is the Haunted Chicken House. They have rooms of clowns, dolls, and people jumping out at you. You can walk with your friends and family in a line to go through the haunted house. A newer haunted house, which is also in our area, is the Eastaboga Manor, they also have people dressed up as clowns and other scary things.

Another big part of Halloween are the mouthwatering, delicious candies. There’s many great candies but some of my favorites are sour candies such as gummy worms, Sour Skittles and Sour Patch Kids. There is also sweet and chewy candy like Laffy Taffy, Airheads, and flavored gum. Last but not least are the smooth but crunchy chocolate candies. Some of the best ones are Hershey’s, Kit Kats, and Reese’s cups. All of these candies are mouthwatering, satisfying, and delicious.

Many people only like Halloween for the pumpkins, weather, and cute costume parties. But Halloween is my favorite because of the fearful haunted houses, scary decorations, and tasty candies. What makes your favorite holiday special?
